
Australian firm BVN received an Honourable Mention when the results were announced recently in the competition for the Master Plan for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
BVN has worked on every Olympic event since Sydney 2000 when their architecture was recognised as a major contributor to the ‘best games ever’ remark made by the then Olympic head Juan-Antonio Samaranch.
BVN WINS FIFTH PRIZE FOR BRAIN MIND RESEARCH INSTITUTE
BVN received a Public Architecture National Commendation at the National Architecture Awards on 3 November for the Brain Mind Research Institute (BMRI) Youth Mental Health Building.
According to the jury the BMRI ‘delivers an impressive and gutsy street elevation that serves as a perfect reflection of its client’s ambitions to be an alternative institutional health building.’ More
‘A sense of organised chaos’ is how the jury described BVN’s new studio as they gave it the John Verge Award which is the major prize for interior architecture at the Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) Awards last Friday.
It is generally accepted that the toughest prizes to win in the building and design industry are those judged by the AIA and in the last ten years, in the ‘Interior Architecture’ category alone, BVN has won 17 awards and commendations for its workplace projects. More

When BVN won the 2011 Sulman Architecture Award at the Australian Institute of Architects Awards last Friday it became the first architecture practice to win six Sulman awards since the award was first given in 1932.
